Health and Wellness

The Central Minnesota Community Empowerment Organization (CMCEO) is dedicated to promoting the health and wellbeing of immigrant communities in the Greater St Cloud Area. Many of these individuals have suffered through wars, which can have a lasting impact on their physical, emotional, and mental health. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining good health is more important than ever, as poor health can hinder a person’s ability to improve their life circumstances.

To address these challenges, CMCEO works closely with key stakeholders to advance and promote health and wellness in the immigrant community. Our focus is on increasing accountability for nutritional programs, developing policies that promote healthy eating, and increasing the community’s overall knowledge base around health and nutrition.

CMCEO is actively working in several areas to improve the health of immigrant communities in Central Minnesota. We aim to increase access to fresh foods, improve food security, promote physical activity through garden maintenance activities, improve dietary habits through education, increase fruit and vegetable intake, and reduce the risk of obesity and obesity-related diseases. By working in these areas, we hope to empower immigrant communities with the resources and support they need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
